Parkwood Rotary is fortunate to have attracted two previous Rotary Members (Peter Richards nad Annie Dorrian) into our membership. President Margaret will formally induct both members at this meeting. Invitations extended to DG Andy and AG Shiela. An invition also extended to our Local division 7 Councilor Ryan Bayldon Lumsden to seek an update on plans for Abbott Park and to ascertain where Parkwood could direct its Community Service activities in support of this project. |

Club Meeting with Jason Taghaode as guest Speaker. Jason has just returned from a three year assignment in Washington DC with his family on behalf of the Australian Governent in a services role. An opportunity too hear of the challenges and differing lifestyles between Australia and USA. Having also endured the past twelve months with Covid and the Presidential Election I'm sure his story will an eye opener. |

A club favourite returns for 2021. An opportunity to clear unwanted items at this club trash and treasure auction. Invitations extended to other Rotary Clubs in our cluster, family and friends to join in this fun night whilst raising funds for our admin account. Rotarians Mark Kent, Debbie Frugtniet and Hilli Reaburn will champion and host this event. |

Rotary Celebrates 100 years in Australia 2021. Parkwood Rotary will have the opportunity to progress the movement of the official Baton on Friday April 16th from Landsdown Bridge to the Rotary Chapel located on the Broadwater. President Margaret has decided that Parkwood will move the Baton via water for this leg eg Kayak Canoe or SUP. A challenge that Parkwood Members will embrace after all its novel and is sure to get some media coverage. The baton relay is to conclude at an event involving all Gold Coast Rotarains at Cascade Gardens Broadbeach in the evening. Further information re timing etc will be issued closer to the event. |

This will be a follow on from PETS training and the finalisation of goals recorded in my Rotary. Please prepare in advance ensuring your ideas and special projects are captured. Remember its our Club the elected President is only there to direct and ensure compliance. |

Lend Laese the owner and operator of Lindfield Gardens Helensvale are partnering with Parkwood Rotary in a community engagement event. Lend Lease will supply a BBQ evening meal and refreshments. A Club Favourite Event returns. Rotarian Julie Musty will be organising the GWCD event for the weekend May 14th friday night dinner, 15th Saturday Dinner and 16th Sunday Lunch. Monies raised going to Polio. $50 per couple. Express your interest in hosting and consider which event as an attendee you wish to nominate. Julie will circulate further info closer to the date.
